Hope Scholarship WV

Hope Scholarship is the state’s education savings account program that gives parents an opportunity to build an individual learning experience that works best for their child. The scholarship allows K-12 students to receive financial assistance that can be used for tuition, fees and other expenses.

Applications for new students for the 2025-2026 school year will be available on March 1, 2025. To qualify, a student must be a West Virginia resident and be one of the following:
Eligible to be enrolled in kindergarten for the 2025-26 school year.Enrolled full-time in public elementary or secondary school in West Virginia for an entire instructional term of the 2024-25 academic year. Enrolled full-time and attending a public elementary or secondary school in West Virginia for at least 45 consecutive calendar days during the current instructional term at the time of application. For more information visit www.hopescholarshipwv.com For current Hope Scholarship participants wishing to continue participation in the program during the 2025-2026 school year, the Continued Participation Confirmation will be available in the online portal beginning on January 3, 2025, and running through June 15, 2025. Late confirmations will not be accepted. Students continuing participation in the program will have to demonstrate current proof of WV residency. A new, simplified residency process through Plaid will be available for families who wish to use it. Using Plaid will help expedite the review process and result in a faster decision on the system application. Families who do not wish to use Plaid or those where Plaid is unable to confirm the address will be able to upload proof of residency documentation outlined in the Hope Scholarship legislative rules such as utility bills, vehicle registrations, etc. with their system application for manual review.
